As a follow up to the conference and Marianne Brown's keynote, I want to start a discussion thread about concrete and measurable ways we can communicate value of the conference back to our companies.  Here are a few thoughts in the area of business intelligence to kick off the brain storm:
Business Intelligence:

  • A simple tally of customers, partners, competitors with significant data points you gathered from either conversations you had or the panels you heard.
  • Learning about a new product of service that might bear further research and value to your company. More importantly, you probably met with a senior executive from that company and at the same time met other women from your industry whom you could leverage to help assess the long term viability of the company in addition to the potential merits of the new product or service.
  • Since the theme of the conference was about doing more with less, any actionable ideas that streamline.  For example, you may bring back concrete examples from the metrics panel. Or maybe the vendor management panel gave you ideas of things your company will have to play close attention to, especially as you move into the cloud computing space.

I could go on, but this is just a quick start. Let's continue the thread with other ideas.
