January 28th is Data Privacy Day. Created in 2007, Data Privacy Day is an annual campaign to raise awareness and promote education and best practices about privacy. This year saw a change in leadership from The Privacy Projects to The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA). This strategic transition was done to bring NCSA's public awareness campaign expertise to Data Privacy Day. Out reach to membership organizations, like the Executive Women's Forum (EWF), helped increase scale and participation in this international campaign.
